1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using QR Scanner ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Service Description

The App provides the following features:

  • Scanning QR codes and 20 barcode formats (EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128, Aztec, Data Matrix, PDF417, and more)
  • Generating QR codes, barcodes, social media QR codes, and business QR codes
  • Custom QR code design (color, logo, style customization)
  • Product information lookup (via Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts)
  • Saving scan history, favorites, and exporting (CSV, TXT, image, XLSX)
  • Continuous scanning (batch mode)

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The following actions are prohibited:

  • Using the App for fraud, phishing, or any illegal activity
  • Infringing on the personal information, copyrights, or other rights of others
  • Creating or distributing QR codes that contain malicious code
  • Circumventing the App's security or reverse-engineering the App

4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

The App offers a free version and a PRO (paid) version.

  • All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to each store's terms of service.
  • PRO subscription is offered as a weekly auto-renewing plan ($7.99/week).
  • A free trial period (3 days) may be offered. If not canceled before the trial ends, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription.
  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscription cancellation must be managed directly via iOS Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions, or Google Play Store > Payments & subscriptions.
  • Refund requests should be directed to Apple or Google directly.

5. Advertising

The free version includes advertising via Google AdMob. Ads may appear in banner, interstitial, and app-open formats. All ads are removed with a PRO subscription.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google AdMob — Advertising
  • Firebase Analytics — Anonymous usage statistics
  • Open Food Facts / Open Beauty Facts — Product information lookup
  • Amazon — Product search links

The terms of service and privacy policies of each third-party service apply separately.

7. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and design are owned by CodeBear and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Social media and business platform logos included in the App are the trademarks of their respective owners.

8. Warranty Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. CodeBear does not warrant:

  • That the App will operate uninterrupted or error-free
  • The accuracy or completeness of scan results
  • The accuracy of information provided by third-party services (such as Open Food Facts)
  • The safety of external websites linked to via QR codes or barcodes

9. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall CodeBear be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the App. This includes loss of data, loss of revenue, or security issues resulting from scanning QR codes.

10. Changes to Terms

CodeBear reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When Terms are changed, we will notify you via in-app notice or this page. If you do not agree to the changed Terms, you must discontinue use of the App.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any related disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea.
